What a day it has been ...

I've done nothing!

Well, I shouldn't say "nothing".  I woke up, ate a small breakfast, came home, looked at my To Do List and fell back to sleep.  I'm up, went to eat lunch/dinner and am contemplating on going to the gym ... nah (that was quick!) ... I'll stay home watch my only TV show that I get to watch from beginning to end and work on some lesson planning for tomorrow.

It has nothing to do with motivation.  Perhaps, it has to do with realizing that I have 2 more weeks of school, 3 projects to complete and am posting this note a bit late in the week.  Anyhow, today has been just one of those ... lazy days.

I must tell you though, it's been a month since I've indulged in eating fried chicken.  And I found a spot here in the San Gabriel Valley that has some amazing fried chicken.  The batter is light, full of spice and taste so good.  I was thirsty for water soon after because it may have had a small hint of extra salt - which I love!  And as we were leaving my friend pointed out to that behind this hamburger joint, there's a market selling fresh killed chicken.  And that's where I'll end that story.  :-)

It was delicious!!

I've been thinking about a summer road trip to San Francisco.  What a random thought.  The point is I have a craving for some good dim sum.  And the only dim sum place I know is in the Richmond District of San Francisco, a/k/a "little Chinatown".  It's known Little Chinatown because it is not anywhere near the Chinatown District of San Francisco.  It's actually located on the west side of the city, starting on Clement and Arguello, and has a variety of excellent and authentic Asian cuisine restaurants and places selling only dim sum all line up.  Or, at least that's how it was the last time I went.

Why am I hungry, again?  If you have any suggestions for excellent dim sum places her in Los Angeles, besides the Empress Pavilion in Chinatown in DTLA, let me know.

  1. Oh What a day! You are funny! I am so glad to see that someone else is as behind as I am. I'd love to know what the one TV show is. And I see that along with being a procrastinator you are a foodie too. I will be watching this space to see how the projects are coming along next week….*gulp*….

  2. Your post made me think about my own "end of quarter" (including coming projects and vacation). Full of stress which will be followed by, hopefully, satisfaction and a great trip to Europe :)

    1. No way!! And I mean that in a good way. I'd be even more jealous (if that's possible) if you were on a 1 month tour of China and Southeast Asia. Now, there's my dream trip! Either way, I am happy for you. Great job and hopefully you have a wonderful time.

If that was me ... I'd be like "what projects?" Just joking. Oh, that is going to make your Summar vacation even more special. Good luck on the job search. Or, that's what I am at least hoping you are going to be doing over there while on vacation. Sadly, my vacation this year is a "staycay". I am not going anywhere. :-(

  3. Where is the chicken place exactly? We all have to indulge at least once. Lounging around on a Holiday is well deserved after all you have been doing a lot.

Staying home and watching TV my kind of holiday, but have too much to read and do.
Thank you for sharing, the chicken place.

  4. Like your peers, I want to know what your TV program is and where the SG fried chicken place is!

The best Chinese dim sun restaurant is Din Tai Fung, in Arcadia. Get ready to wait in order to get in or go very, very early or very very late. There is the new restaurant, on Baldwin near Duarte, and the old restaurant in the back. Wonderful food!
